SNOW CURRENCY - Ingi Bjornson
MARCH 29, 2013 at 2PM

BIRCH LAKE, Saskatchewan

Please join us for an outdoor exhibition of Ingi Bjornson's Snow Currency at Ground Water Gallery, a site-specific installation by Katie Kozak.

Ground Water Gallery explores the connection between land and visual art by framing a natural element as simultaneous work of art and art gallery. Consisting of four packed snow walls in square formation and constructed on a frozen lake surface, the structure acts as a venue for engaging regional and cultural interests. The gallery is presented during a time of seasonal climate change, emphasizing the impermanence of the project and its relationship to the natural water cycle. Ground Water Gallery's inaugural event will be Snow Currency, open to the public from 2PM to 4PM on Friday, March 29th. Following the exhibition, a hole with be drilled into the gallery floor in order to facilitate ice fishing until dusk.
